The 1 ton Sdkfz 10 halftrack was used as a towing tractor for several small guns including the Pak 36, Pak 38, Sig17, Sig 33 and the 120mm mortar trailer.
The production of the Sig 17 75mm infantry gun ceased by the time the war started but the gun remained in service until 1945. Issued to infantry gun companies under regimental control.
Krupp Protze tractor Kfz 69 in production from the start of the war the Kfz 69 was used to tow the Pak 36 anti tank gun. The vehicle equipped panzer jager units for the invasion of Poland and was still in use during the early battles in the Soviet Union in 1941- 42. These vehicles were also used by the Hungarian army during WW2.
By 1942 when this gun came into general service, heavier Russian tanks were making life more difficult for German anti tank units. The 75mm Pak 40 was capable of penetrating 154mm of armour at a range of 1000m, and became the mainstay anti tank weapon right up to the end of the war.
