On May 6th 1864 Confederate Ironclad CSS Raleigh emerged from the Cape Fear River and stood out into the Atlantic accompanied by gunboats CSS Yadkin and CSS Equator . During the early evening the Ironclad engaged the small blockader USS Britannia in a brief fight and throughout the night she fought gun battles with five other blockaders of the inshore squadron who had come to investigate the disturbance. Pithead propose making a set of ships to recreate this engagement . The set will include the Ironclad CSS Raliegh , gunboats CSS Yadkin , CSS Equator and blockaders USS Brittannia , USS Nansemond , USS Kansas USS Mount Vernon, USS Howquah and USS Niphon. Currently this set of ships is just a proposal but it will be put into production as soon as we have recruited enough support to make the project viable .
